oil and cold wax on deep canvas, 16" x 16", unframed
I have always admired dancers on stage and on ice. Their movements, often so … well, fluid. At their best they make the exceedingly difficult seem easy. Several years ago, I tried to honour their artistry in a small canvas, just 4” x 4”, called “Dance”. After I finished it, I wished I’d made it bigger. Finally, thinking about what I might paint for an art show themed Fluid, I decided it was time to do just that. Come Dance with Me is a new version of that earlier work.
