Like many of us, I have for a very long time been deeply concerned about what is going on in the world. The climate crisis, the rise of extremist ideologies, the pandemic, the wars. But it wasn't until I faced the possibility of a cancer diagnosis - and eventually confirmation that I have stage 4 breast cancer - that I was able to respond to these concerns artistically. While the paintings in this gallery were inspired by my personal situation, these broader concerns were also top of mind as I worked.
