30" x 20", Oil and Cold Wax on Deep Cradled Birch Panel, unframed
With Jazz, I wanted to express my love for the music of Keith Jarret, Miles Davis, Jan Garbarek and other favourites. Working with oil and cold wax, I was able paint in numerous layers, using home-made stencils in a jazz-like fashion, repeatedly pushing various shapes into the shadows, then bringing them back again, to suggest improvisation.
