Oil & cold wax on wood panel, 30" x 3" x 2.5", unframed
Painting continues on both sides of panel
Browsing at Island Blue awhile back, I noticed this 30” x 3” x 2.5” cradled panel. I had no idea what I would do with it, but, intrigued by the unusual shape, bought it anyway. Months later, when I was sitting on the bench at Oaks Bluff, it occurred to me I could paint a three-dimensional sliver of the gorgeous view in front of me. The clouds that day were spectacular, and wound up being the main inspiration for Viewpoint.
