Oil and cold wax on deep cradled wood panel, 36" x 24", unframed
While I worked on this painting, its central image and colour palette inspired a haiku: “autumn leaves / destined to let go / hold on”. At the time, I’d been learning to live with stage 4 breast cancer and feeling relieved that the medications were keeping it at bay. Like so many who find themselves faced with the seemingly insurmountable, I was (and am) Holding On.
