Oil on Canvas, 24" x 24", unframed
Initially I thought I would call this painting Composition #1, because my intention was to bring circles and curves back into my work after having focused for several months on sharp angles and lines. But as I worked I found myself introducing angled shapes and I realized the painting was about the options I was navigating while dealing with stage 4 cancer: some were already closed (the box at top left); others still had promise (the house with a small window at bottom left); but most remained a vast unknown (the large blue rectangle at centre right). So the title Options seemed a better fit.
